People(s)-Centered Education

Assata Shakur Popular Education (ASPE)

Pan-African Community Action’s (PACA) Assata Shakur Popular Education (ASPE) is our flagship program for developing a culture of collective political education and principled struggle.

Held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 7–9 PM at the Black Workers & Wellness Center in Southeast DC, these popular education sessions use readings, videos, and discussion to deepen our understanding of the systems we fight—Capitalism, White Supremacy, and Patriarchy—and to strengthen our commitment to building power for African people. ASPEs center the leadership and experiences of Working-Class Black People and invite all participants to practice Step Up–Step Back, creating space for reflection, participation, and transformation. If this analysis resonates with you, join us in study, struggle, and the work of liberation.
