SUMMARY:Black Mothers March 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Black Mother’s March on the White House is more than an event—it’s a movement. Now in its 5th year\, this powerful gathering serves as a platform to make the struggle to rescue our children a vital part of the larger fight for Black liberation. \nThis Mother’s Day\, we unite as a collective to condemn the colonialist policies that undermine the centrality of Black life. These policies target Black families\, isolate individuals\, and victimize entire communities. Through this march\, we give a voice to those who have been silenced and take a stand against the injustices of the Family Policing System. \nThe march is an opportunity to reclaim our power\, amplify our voices\, and resist a system designed to oppress. Together\, we will demand accountability\, justice\, and the freedom to build futures where Black families are protected and cherished. \nWhether you are a mother\, father\, grandparent\, an advocate\, or a co-conspirator\, your presence matters. Join us in Washington\, D.C.\, to honor our shared commitment to liberation\, community\, and our theme this year: WE GOT US! \nRegistration is free. Reserve your spot today for the March and be on the lookout for registration to open for other events happening BMM Weekend.

SUMMARY:Hands Off DC's Black Youth Rally and Speak Out
DESCRIPTION:“Teen Takeovers” aren’t chaos. They are a response! \nBlack working-class youth are growing up with closed schools\, underfunded programs\, over-policing\, and no real investment in their futures. When the system abandons them\, they create their own spaces to be seen\, heard\, and together. This is what rebellion looks like when basic needs go unmet. What we’re seeing is not just frustration—it’s potential. \nThese moments show that youth are already moving\, already gathering\, already pushing back. Instead of criminalizing them\, we should be organizing with them. This is an opportunity to build leadership\, develop political consciousness\, and turn energy into collective power. \nTurn out for them to show them real\, revolutionary support at a time when all our regarding them as the problem. \nJoin us Saturday\, April 11 to demand an end to all juvenile curfews and fight for real solutions rooted in community power and democracy.

SUMMARY:The People's March for Community Safety & Power
DESCRIPTION:Join us at 1:30pm for this community march for power\, a step in the struggle to get organized.\n\n\n\nSince August\, the federal takeover of Washington D.C. law enforcement has been escalating and both the federal and local governments are making it clear that they are waging a domestic war on African (Black) working class and migrant diaspora people. Arrests\, deportations\, and raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have surged in Washington\, D.C. as a part of this crackdown and has also emboldened the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) to harass and make more arrests of Black working class people\, especially our youth. \nThe false notion that the policies of the federal and local DC governments are for public safety must be rejected. The debate over federal takeover versus local government control is a distraction. The only solution to both community safety and government repression is to organize for power. Not reform. The people most subjected to the oppressive policies of the system must organize. \nJoin us Sunday\, September 28\, 2025 at 1:30pm for this community march for power\, a step in the struggle to get organized.

SUMMARY:Malcolm X Day Community Speak Out
DESCRIPTION:Honoring the 100 Year Centennial Birthday of El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz\n\n\n\nWe call on you to join us for the Malcolm X Day Community Speakout on Sunday\, May 18th from 1:00 to 3:30 PM\, on his 100th Birthday. \nThis speakout\, hosted by Pan African Community Action\, Malcolm X Grassroots Movement DC Chapter\, Diaspora Palante Collective\, the Palestinian Youth Movement-DMV\, and the All-African People’s Revolutionary Party\, is to honor the legacy of Malcolm X by continuing his work — not through symbolic remembrance\, but through political action\, grassroots organizing\, and community connection. For over 20 years\, Malcolm X Day was commemorated in SE DC and we hope to reignite that tradition with the year’s speakout. \nThis is not a symbolic celebration — it’s a call to action. \nWe believe the only way to confront and transform these conditions is through mass movement building\, strong grassroots organizations\, and a clear strategy to organize for and win power in our communities. Malcolm X taught that liberation would not come from appealing to systems that oppress us\, but through collective struggle\, political education\, and community-led resistance. \n“Power in defense of freedom is greater than power in behalf of tyranny and oppression\, because power\, real power\, comes from conviction which produces action\, uncompromising action. It also produces insurrection against oppression. This is the only way you end oppression—with power.” -Malcolm X \nThis Speakout is designed to: \n\nCommemorate the legacy of Malcolm X and reignite the tradition of Malcolm X Day in Southeast DC\nProvide political education and relevant analysis on current events that have an impact on our communities\nExpose the systemic violence\, exploitation\, and corruption caused by local and federal governments in DC\nBuild connections among Southeast DC residents organizations to strategize\, share sources\, and build political unity.\n\nWhat to expect: \n\nSpeeches from PACA and partner organizations.\nCommunity comments\nRadical Black artistic performances\nFree snacks and refreshments\nBooks\, zines\, flyers\, and organizing materials\n\nEvent Details:Date: Sunday\, May 18Time: 1:00 – 3:30 PM \nLocation: Malcolm X (Shepard) Park at the intersection of Malcolm X Ave & MLK Jr. Ave SE \nThis event is open to all. \nWe invite you to show up\, bring your voice\, and take part in the work of liberation. \nPlease let us know that you’lll plan to turnout!
