Join Pan African Community Action this Wednesday 12/11 for our Assata Shakur Study Group (ASSG). We will be reading the first 10 pages of “On Violence” (or “Concerning Violence” in some editions), the first chapter of the book, The Wretched of the Earth, where psychiatrist, author, and revolutionary activist Frantz Fanon explores the cause, effect, and implications of the violence that occurs during different stages of decolonization.

This text published in 1961, was widely read by revolutionaries throughout the world. Even within the belly of empire. The Black Panther Party had it as one of their mandatory readings upon entering the party. Understanding the violence in our community means getting an understanding of its origins and studying examples laid out for us in our history in order to counteract it.

PACA is continuing the eternal struggle for Black Self Determination. One of the first steps in that direction is constant political education. So we hope you will join us for this important study session. Forward Ever Backward Never!
